Kalyea Moss Gives us the Lowdown on her Starring Role in Straight Drama

Plus model and actress Kalyea Moss will be starring in Straight Drama, a play that follows the life of a NYC radio producer living life and facing tough choices. Maddy Figueroa-Jones sat down with the curvy beauty to find out a little more about playing the lead in this 'must-see' play. [Maddy] How did you find out you were chosen for the lead role? [Kalyea] I was interested in the characters, particularly the lead female role named Jacklyne. The auditions were held at the 40/40 club.  I read for the role of Jacklyne and two weeks later the Writer and Director contacted me to offer the lead role. [Maddy] Tell me about the character you play, Jacklyne.

[Kalyea] Jacklyne is a successful radio producer in New York city that has an
important decision to make that can affect not only her, but the ones she
loves, including her boyfriend. She is very funny and outgoing. Jackylne
knows what she wants out of life and for herself and doesn't depend on
anyone. She wants to get married to her boyfriend but he is holding back.

[Maddy] Sounds like a lot of women will identify with your character.

[Kalyea] I think so too. The play deals with issues regrding self esteem, friendship, sexuality and love, with a twist. Straight Drama deals with issues that we all face. I can relate to each character in different ways. Being a plus size model, my self esteem has been shaken, but I stayed strong like the characters in the play.
